Paris Journal: Arrival Day (City Bus Tour)

We’ve arrived in Paris! After a long flight where Rachel slept and I played videogames and watched the Avengers, we arrived to a VIP arrival and transfer to the hotel. The Westin is beautiful, especially the open courtyard where they have a little restaurant. We went to a cafe for a little lunch… Rachel had salmon on toast and I had a sandwich with chicken, cheese and tomato. It only cost $50 lol. (Other choices were escargot, ham and cheese, hamburger, omelettes or salads)

Then we took a nap and were woken up by a blasting alarm in the hotel asking everyone to go outside because of a technical error. I looked outside and didn’t see smoke or fire so we didn’t leave the room. It lasted a good 10 min and really helped to wake us up.

Then went out for a double decker bus tour to get an overview of the city… the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Arc de Triumphe, etc. It was a perfect introduction on a tired day. Afterwards we walked around and shopped a little (Herve, patisserie, Longchamp) and ended up at a cafe for dinner where we had salmon again along with a cheese platter.

We both slept great last night and it looks like it’s going to be a beautiful first full day in Paris!

Song for the day:
